Marketing the Repair Estimate Report

Tips & Tricks

Who should I market the Repair Estimate Report to?

You decide if you want to market the RER to your agent or your client. We recommend marketing to agents, because the RER can help them better utilize your inspection report to negotiate more efficiently!

Early adopters of the Repair Estimate Report have seen great success bundling the RER with their inspection report, and offering the two together as a premium inspection package!

When marketing to Agents:

The value of the Repair Estimate Report for agents is the power and efficiency it gives them during the post-inspection negotiation process. After every inspection you do, the agent has to spend hours getting prices for the repairs highlighted in your report. With the Repair Estimate Report, you can help agents save time and energy during that process.

What is the RER?

“The Repair Estimate Report uses the details from your client’s inspection report summary to create cost estimates you can use to negotiate and close. The RER could be saving you hours of work on every transaction.”

Here’s how it works:

  • Experts at Porch will deliver you an itemized list of estimates to review, based on your client’s inspection report summary.
  • Once you receive the estimates, creating a repair request addendum is simpler than ever before.
  • The Repair Estimate Report from Porch can help you and your clients save time and money during the negotiation process.

How to get the Repair Estimate Report:

“Tell your client about the Repair Estimate Report. If they’re interested, let me know and I will add the RER to their inspection order. The report is $80 for your client.”

If you are opted into the Sample Report option during your RER setup:
If you or your client are interested in the RER, I can add a sample report to your client’s order, which is free to them. The sample report will give them an idea as to what the report would provide. When Porch sends you both the sample report, there will be an option to purchase the full report directly from Porch.

To help make things simple for you, we created an email template you can send your agents to let them know you're offering the Repair Estimate Report.

You'll have a template available to you in your ISN named:

When you market to Homebuyers:

The value of the Repair Estimate Report for homebuyers is that it helps alleviate stress during the post-inspection process, and provide detailed cost information associated with the home they are purchasing.

How do I earn additional revenue with the RER?

When you add an RER to an order, Porch will charge you $40. We will also add an $80 RER fee to the purchaser’s order invoice--leaving you with a $40 profit! This fee is customizable, so it’s up to you how much you charge for the RERs you sell.

If you opted into the Sample Report option during your RER setup:
When you add the Sample RER service to an inspection order, Porch will send your client the sample RER via email, and give them the option to purchase the full report if they decide it’s something they’d like. If any of your agents or clients purchase the RER directly from Porch after receiving the sample, you’ll get a $20 commission! Commission for RER upsells will be paid twice yearly beginning in December 2019.
