All email is sent FROM an address TO an address so there are two systems involved: (1) a sending system and (2) a receiving system. Due to the sheer amount of SPAM sent via email providers have come up with ways to stop bad email from entering their systems. The providers do this by validating if a sender is allowed to send email for that address. To explain this we will send an email from bob@gmail.com to sally@yahoo.com. We are going to do this example from the perspective of ISN doing the sending (like an email event).

ISN calls the servers @yahoo.com and says "we have an email for sally@yahoo.com" and the yahoo.com servers will say "oh great, but I have a few questions." "First, who is it from?" ISN says "bob@google.com" and yahoo.com’s equipment will quickly say "please hold" and they will call google and ask whom the valid senders are. Unfortunately ISN will NOT be a valid sender for email from @gmail.com and the email will likely be scored incredibly high for spam OR it will be removed all together. Clearly this is problematic… so we have solved it.

So solve this problem with ISN you need to tell ISN you want to send via google and not via ISN. Thus, we offer you the ability to use SMTP for your gmail account in your settings. Click on Settings and then on SMTP Setup. From there enter in the gmail account you want to use (in our example bob@google.com). Next, add the username and password for the account, enter port 465 for sending and check the SSL box. Now, email from your gmail account in ISN will route THROUGH google/gmail so it will send without a problem
